Gabby's Flower Party!

Gabriela turned 7 on June 1. To celebrate, she had a flower party with her friends. She had 5 friends come to the party: Karly, Adyson, Madi, Hayley, and Logan. The theme for the party was flowers! The girls painted terra cota flower pots and planted petunias in them.

They turned out really cute and the girls had a lot of fun doing them!

The girls also made flowers for their hair.

And of course, they had cupcakes and opened presents!

I just can't believe that my baby is 7! It's amazing how fast time goes by!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY GABBY! I LOVE YOU!

An update...FINALLY

Well, our little family has continued to stay busy for the past several months! Of course, my lack of knowledge with technology also inhabits me from being able to update my blog, but probably more so is the lack of time. No matter, I am finally sitting down to update things. We had a great Christmas and New Year's celebration this year! We spent Christmas in Palm Springs. Unfortunately it was pretty cold and we were unable to do much swimming, even though the pool was heated. The other downside to our stay in Palm Springs was that the resort that we stayed in was a dump! It was no where near what we expected from Diamond Resorts (our timeshare). We have submitted a formal complaint requesting our points back to use at a resort that would meet the standards that Diamond Resort advertises and even promises. Anyway, despite the crappy condo and the cold weather, we managed to mostly enjoy ourselves. My brother and his new wife had recomened that we go to a deseret zoo. It was really fun! They had some fun animal shows and Gabriela especially liked that she was able to pet a snake.
After Palm Springs, we headed to my gramps' house. It was so great to see him and spend some time with him. Of course, we stayed pretty busy, but we did have some time with him. We were able to spend 3 days at Disneyland! We brought in the New Year there on the 31st. We had a fabulous time at Disney! And I must say, the kids were as good as gold! I could not have asked them to be any better. We arrived at Disneyland early and stayed all day, even until 2:00 in the morning on New Year's Eve! Cristian slept in the stroller for a couple of hours during the day, but otherwise they were just troopers. There were a few times when Cristian got angry because he didn't want to get off of a ride, but they were both really good at waiting in lines and fighting all of the crowds! Cristian really loved the Pirates of the Carribean and Gabriela likes Big Thunder Mountain (really she loves all of the roller coasters). We also spent one day at California Adventure Park. This park is not as fun for small kids. There were several rides that Cristian could not get on because he was not tall enough. But, we went to the Disney Playhouse Live on Stage show and Cristian really loved that! Also, Turtle Talk with Crush was a big hit with both of them.
We also went to some motorcycle races (of course). They were good races. My favorite racer crashed with Erwin's favorite rider. Fortunately, Chad Reed, my racer, recovered and finished in 3rd place. Unfortunately, James Stuart, Erwin's racer, did not recover and did not finish the race.
We had to go to the Colombian consulate one day and Erwin was able to take care of some paperwork that he needed to do. The wait time was forever! 3 1/2 hours, in fact. But at least he was able to do what he needed to do.
On Sunday we took a drive with gramps to the LA temple after church and dinner. It was a nice drive and something to do with gramps.
We really did have a fantastic time! I am going to post a whole bunch of pics. From this trip as well as from Halloween and Erwin's trip to Colombia over Thanksgiving.

Gabriela's new "dress"

So, here is the story with the dress. A few days ago, Gabby got dressed for school. When I went in to check on her I found her wearing one of my maternity shirts as a dress. I said, "Gabby you can't wear that to school." She asked why not and I said it was a pregnant shirt. She said, "It looks like a dress on me." After some arguement I let her wear it under the condition that she wear tights and an undershirt. She wondered why an undershirt and I explained that the neck was a bit too wide and that someone might see her chest. Her response was, "Mom, I need a bra!"
